Welcome to LOVELAND!
Loveland was first settled in 1795 by Colonel Thomas Paxton, however, it would not become the neighborhood it is today until 1848, when Paxton’s son-in-law, William Ramsey, bought 189 acres of land in Warren and Clermont County to create the picturesque community. It was then named Loveland after the operator of the general store and post office, James Loveland.
Today, the community is still known for its scenic views and stunning nature trails, particularly the Little Miami Bike Trail. The quaint town and historic homes offers a beautiful glimpse into the past, and the numerous suburbs and parks makes it a great place to call home.
Fun Fact: Loveland has its very own castle! It was built by WWI veteran Harry Andrews and the Knights of the Golden Trail (a camping group made up of Harry’s Boy Scout & Sunday School pupils) after the boys declared they could not be considered real knights without a castle. Harry then told the boys that if they brought him stones from the river, he would construct them a 10th century style castle, and true to his word, he bought the land and began construction on June 5th, 1929. You can still tour the castle today or attend one of their many events throughout the year!
