Welcome to PLEASANT RIDGE!
Beginning as a small fort in 1795, Pleasant Ridge didn’t receive it’s first permanent settlers until 1809. It was originally named Cross Roads, because it sat at the intersection of two Indian trails, now Ridge Road and Montgomery Road. This became an important stop for travelers, sparking the emergence of several businesses.
Today, the community is known for its focus on the arts and offers a number of locally owned businesses from galleries to themed bars, coffee shops & restaurants. There are also plenty of great parks and playgrounds to explore including one that looks like a castle!
Fun Fact: On October 11, 2008 Pleasant Ridge and Kennedy Heights formed an alliance called District A, a grassroots effort to build community and fuel economic development through the arts along the Montgomery Road corridor. The alliance began with a two-mile street festival featuring over 50 artists, musicians and businesses!
